Description
A carrom board is a square, flat board used to play the popular indoor game of carrom. The objective of the game is to use a striker to hit small circular discs (called carrom men) into corner pockets, similar to pool or billiards but played on a flat surface.
Key Features
- Material: Carrom boards are usually made of plywood or wood, with a smooth surface to allow the carrom men to slide easily.
- Size: The board is typically square, around 29 inches (74 cm) in length for standard boards. Smaller boards are available for kids.
- Pockets: There are four pockets, one at each corner of the board.
- Carrom Men: These are small, round discs, usually made of wood or plastic. The game uses two sets of colored pieces (one for each player or team) and a special red disc called the queen.
- Striker: This is a slightly larger and heavier disc used to hit the carrom men into the pockets.
Game Play
Carrom is played by flicking the striker with your fingers to move the carrom men into the corner pockets. The goal is to pocket all of your pieces before your opponent does, with an added challenge of pocketing the queen for extra points.
Carrom is a fun and skillful game, often played at home or in recreational clubs, providing entertainment for players of all ages.
